1. Who this policy covers
EventQuote is a service operated by Peter Jae Hyuk Choi. This policy covers eventquote.app, EventQuote account and purchase pages, and EventQuote planners embedded on restaurant websites.
When an event guest requests availability, EventQuote processes the request for the selected restaurant or venue and shares it with that venue. The venue may have its own privacy practices for what it does after receiving the request.
2. Information we collect
Information restaurant teams and buyers provide
- name, work email, phone number, account credentials, and account role;
- restaurant or venue name, website, locations, event offerings, prices, policies, branding, and notification recipients;
- purchase and onboarding details, support messages, and configuration approvals; and
- Square account and location details when a restaurant chooses to connect Square.
Information event guests provide
- event date and time, occasion, guest count, budget range, room and package choices, event needs, and notes;
- name, email, phone number, and preferred contact method when requesting availability; and
- an email address when saving an estimate or verifying an availability request.
Information collected automatically
- basic request and security information, which may include IP address, browser or device details, timestamps, and requested pages;
- referring page and campaign parameters such as UTM values when present; and
- browser storage used to remember an unfinished event estimate or keep one checkout attempt connected to the correct setup record.
EventQuote does not receive or store full payment-card numbers. Square processes checkout and payment information under Square's own terms and privacy policy. EventQuote receives limited transaction details such as payment status, amount, currency, and provider references.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- calculate and save event estimates;
- verify contact information and send requested emails;
- deliver qualified event requests to the selected restaurant and support its follow-up workflow;
- create and secure restaurant accounts, configure the service, provide support, and process purchases;
- connect approved quote and payment workflows with Square;
- understand which EventQuote pages or campaigns generated a direct inquiry;
- prevent abuse, diagnose problems, keep audit records, and protect the service; and
- comply with law and enforce our agreements.
4. When we disclose information
We disclose information only as needed for the service:
- To the selected restaurant or venue. Availability requests and their event details go to the venue the guest chose. Saving an estimate does not create a venue lead unless the guest separately requests availability.
- To service providers. Hosting, database, authentication, email, domain, security, and payment providers process information for EventQuote. Depending on what is configured, these may include the selected hosting provider, Supabase, Resend, Cloudflare, and Square.
- For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or respond to a valid legal request.
- During a business change. Information may transfer as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of the service, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information. We also do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or use third-party advertising trackers.
5. Browser storage and tracking choices
The embedded planner uses local browser storage so a guest can continue an unfinished estimate on the same device. The purchase page uses session storage to keep one checkout attempt tied to the correct setup details. Restaurant sign-in uses necessary authentication cookies. Clearing site data in the browser removes local or session storage, but it does not delete information already submitted to EventQuote or a restaurant.
Because EventQuote does not track people across unrelated websites for advertising, browser “Do Not Track” signals do not change our practices. Third parties do not collect personal information through EventQuote for cross-site behavioral advertising. If these practices change, this policy will be updated before that use begins.
6. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described above. The period depends on whether the information is part of an active restaurant account, an open event inquiry, a saved estimate, a purchase or tax record, a security log, or a legal obligation. Verification codes expire after 10 minutes. Browser-stored planner data remains on the device until the guest completes a request, clears it, or the browser removes it.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it, de-identify it, or isolate it from routine use, unless law or a legitimate dispute, security, or recordkeeping need requires longer retention.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information that EventQuote controls. You may also ask for a portable copy or object to certain processing where applicable. Send a request to support@eventquote.app. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when law or an ongoing business need permits.
If your request concerns an event inquiry sent to a restaurant, contact the restaurant as well. The restaurant controls its own copy and may need to keep it for booking, safety, tax, or dispute purposes. If a privacy law gives you a right to appeal our response, reply to our decision with the word “Appeal” and explain what you would like reviewed.
You can decline optional guest confirmation emails in a restaurant's configured flow where that choice is offered. Operational messages such as verification codes, purchase receipts, security notices, or account emails are part of the requested service.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including scoped account access, tenant separation, signed provider callbacks, and encrypted network connections in production. No online system can promise perfect security.
9. Children
EventQuote is a business and event-planning service, not a service directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or law changes. We will post the revised policy here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide additional notice when reasonably required.
